Getting Animated.... about animation !

Today while irrelevantly surfing over Youtube I happened to remember my old days at ZICA Studios. Full of memories ... sweet and sour ..... the toil we went through, the umpteen number of times we failed before we could make a tiny miniscule portion of an animated sequence..... and then amount of learning we had in that process ! Any animator (... who has managed to have the sanity to stick to animation for more than 2 year) is definitely a person with a truckload of patience !... U bet ! Especially, the traditional hand-drawn animation requires good draftsmanship, observation , perseverance and tons of patience ! Below i have posted a link to our group project... 24 students...6 days... 24x7 dedication and the MakhanChor project is born. From scratch to finish in 6days ! That feeling in AMMAZINGG !!! I dont wish to spoil the fun by saying/writing how exactly it feels. ....u know some things are better just experienced. For now..... Watch me ! I told these guys that they had the most amazing job in the world..... they gave people one of the most wonderful and unique experiences, indeed !

My Green Thumb

Aah... sigh !... How I wish to live between shrubs, bushes, vines and trees.... surrounded by flowers and fruits... and fluttering butterflies and buzzing bees and chirping birds !.... that too right in the middle of a desert ??? But the gardener in me refuses to give up ! The six months of summer are quite depressing to see the plants shrivel and then dry up eventually in the scorching heat. but come winter and my rakes and waterspouts come out with great enthusiasm. Just looks at those bunches of tomatoes... my very first attempt... and i am so happy to show off !

Five Elements in me

It  amazes me how the patterns form on any Tie-and-Dye project. You might know what you want to do and might plan meticulously too... but you can never visualize exactly the end result. ' Five Elements in Me' symbolises what I am made of... what you and everybody is made of ! According to hindu beliefs Fire, Earth, Water, Air and Ether is what makes the entire Universe. And this is my humble interpretation of these elements through Tie-and-Dye. May the balance and harmony between these always work to bring beauty around us.

Portrait in Bali

As much I love art... I love travelling. On my last trip which was to Bali... oh wait... the ever so beautiful Bali ! I got a chance to meet some very lovely artists. They were a bunch of youngsters who met up at the Annie's guesthouse to draw and paint. I joined in... i must say i was slightly apprehensive to , since i hadnt drawn or painted in a long time. it was after a lot of prodding my my Hub and my Kiddos that i agreed to. I decided to do a portrait of this really pretty girl sitting next to me. She seemed a little embarrassed initially . And after I was done the group really appreciated my work. They framed and put it up on the wall in the cafeteria. What a proud feeling it was to see my painting each time i passed by !
